He is assigned to the Priory of St. Martin de Porres in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was born and brought up in Albany, New York. Prior to entering the Dominican Order in 1976, he was a secondary school teacher in New York, California and Zambia, Central Africa. He has worked in prison ministry, parish ministry and hospital ministry. At present he is a part-time chaplain at the Federal Prison and Prison Hospital in North Carolina as well as a preacher for the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging (CFCA). Fr. Kirwin has preached the St. Jude Novena at the Dominican Shrine of St. Jude before, and looks forward to once again returning in January 2009. |
