Quote from Fr. Robert J. Botthof, O.P.:

"Having been married for 23 years with three children, one deceased as a baby, and then widowed, I am particularly interested in all who have lost a loved one through death, divorce or separation. I was a public high school teacher, guidance counselor and principal before I entered the Dominican Order at age 55. After theological studies and ordination, I became a principal of a Catholic high school, pastor of a parish and now Spiritual Director of the Shrine. Through the years, I have gained understanding and compassion for those experiencing difficulties regarding family life, raising children, marriage and widowhood."
